DESCRIPTION
Enjoy a 9-Day escorted group tour beginning and ending in Phoenix, Arizona. Travel by bus to San Carlos, Sonora, where you will stay overnight at Hotel Sawari. After breakfast, continue your bus journey to the colonial town of El Fuerte, Sinaloa visiting a Pearl Farm in Guaymas along the way.
After a night in El Fuerte, ride the Chepe Express Train to Cerocahui, where you will stay overnight. Travel by van to Copper Canyon and stay two or three nights (see notes) at a hotel on the rim of the Copper Canyon, where you can visit Copper Canyon Adventure Park. Ride the Chepe Express Train back to El Fuerte and stay one or two nights (see notes) at the Posada del Hidalgo hotel with enough time to explore the area.
After breakfast, start your return journey by bus to San Carlos, where you will enjoy a Sunset Yacht Cruise with dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel Sawari. After breakfast board the bus for your return to Phoenix, Arizona.

Board our first-class motorcoach at 6:45AM. Travel through the Sonoran Desert to the border of Mexico at Nogales. After checking in through customs and declarations, a stop in the town of Santa Ana for lunch at Elba’s Restaurant. Continue travelling through the Sonoran Desert of Sonora to the Sea of Cortez to the beautiful seaside city of San Carlos. Arrive around 5:30pm. Dinner will be at the hotel with wonderful views of the beaches and peaks of the Tetas de Cobra.

CHEPE EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE THROUGH THE COPPER CANYON – EL FUERTE TO BAHUICHIVO TRAIN STATION
All Aboard! This is the day we have been waiting for. After breakfast ride on one of the top five train rides in the world! Views of the rails, tunnels, and rugged terrain remind travelers of the 100 years of construction to prepare for this experience. The Chihuahua al Pacífico Railroad opened in 1961. Our first spectacular train ride climbs from sea level to almost 5,000ft elevation. The first 5-hour portion of the ride on El Chepe ends at Bahuichivo Train Station, then a short van ride from the train station takes you to picturesque Cerocahui to Hotel Mision. An exquisite Balderrama wine tasting experience may be reserved.

FIFTH DAY:
URIQUE CANYON LOOKOUT POINT (CERRO GALLEGO) – TRANSFER TO COPPER CANYON
A spectacular view awaits over the deepest section and most expansive view of the Copper Canyon system. A perfect occasion for mighty scenery views and a first opportunity to purchase Tarahumara wares. We continue on a short van ride to Copper Canyon, and check in at the spectacular Hotel Mirador, on the rim of the canyon where each room has a private balcony which looks out over the canyon surrounded by lush beauty of the Copper Canyons.

After breakfast, travel to the train station for a return trip to El Fuerte. Relish a second instance through most of the 86 tunnels and 39 bridges aboard this marvel engineering. This reverse route begins at almost 8,000 ft and ends just above sea level. In El Fuerte stroll the historic plaza and the hotel’s own historical and stunning grounds.
